ITGumbo: spicing IT up

ITGumbo is pleased to welcome Richard Lango, an electronic engineer passionate about mobile computing and gadgets which make mobility easier. Richard often blogs from his Nokia 3220, and he comments on this particular technology on his recent blog post entitled Nokia Connectivity Woes.php

You can post a comment to his blog via your internet enabled cell-phone, or through your regular old computer, depending on how mobile and connected you are at this moment.

Tags your blog posts

Tags, for those who haven't yet been exposed to all of the Web 2.0 craze, are actually well-known in the realm of the "infogeeks" as "faceted classification". Tags are simple words or phrases that you attach to an item which describe particular facets of it. For example, I might be tagged as "human, male, guy, sailor, product manager, san franciscan, shaved head, tall, joke-cracking, six apartisan, stressed-out, geek". All of those tags together give a better picture of who I am.

Over here at ITGumbo we're starting to get pretty excited about one of our newest blogs: The Penguin Traveler. At the Penguin Traveler, Gina mixes up light-hearted commentary with hard-hitting critiques, all with the goal of untethering your computer resources one review at a time.

Gina K has worked in the tech industry for over 10 years and as a writer and in later years as a technology teacher.

IT Gumbo is very pleased to announce one of our newest bloggers, Arnold Zafra!

Arnold is a cataloging librarian and a prolific author on 2.0 news and culture. This week he writes about the challenges facing Wikipedia as it plans to launch its own search engine. He also muses about one legislature's attempts to regulate MySpace making MySpace effectively more like the public space.
