Apple Unloads New iMacs
The IT World has been anticipating this announcement since a couple of weeks ago. And so when the announcement came from no less than Apple’s top honcho, Steve Jobs, there were mixed reactions from the crowd and soon after from the interweb crowd. And so what’s the fuzz all about?
Steve Jobs announces the new iMac in 20 and 24 inches widescreen display glory, enclosed in pristine and handsomely looking enclosure, joined perfectly by a glass cover makes the new iMac an understatement for aesthetically crafted machine.
The new iMac is built with the following technical specifications:
- Intel Core 2 Duo processors running up to 2.8 GHz - 4MB of shared L2 cache - 4GB of 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM memory - ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO - 256MB of GDDR3 memory - ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT with 128MB of GDDR3 memory. - 1TB of internal storage
Aside from these technical specifications, the new iMac is also loaded with upgraded features of iLife08, Apple’s desktop suite which includes new versions of iPhoto and iMovie which are integrated in the upgraded version of .Mac gallery.
And the best part is, the new iMac retails less than its predecessors. The 20-inch widescreen display retails at $1,199 while the 24-inch retails at $1,799. Both prices are $300 and $200 less than the prices of their predecessors respectively.
Time to say goodbye to your old and ageing iMacs and start looking for a trusty iMac dealer guys. Or are you going to pass up for this one and wait for the iMacs with the touch screen feature like that of the iPhone?
