It's Apple's Turn to take Centerstage

This business week opens up with two announcement from Apple's Steve Jobs about two exciting developments in "Apple Land". First, is the release of Safari, the Mac's web broser, into the Windows platform. Looks like Job's and Co. are ready to infiltrate the common masses operating systems and is all prepared for a head on collision with Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Mozilla's Firefox browser. This move aside from making Safari available to the Windows will also pave the way for third party developers to develop applications for Apple's up and coming, highly anticipated iPhone.

On a related development Apple is also launching a video rental service which is expected to battle top video rental company, Blockbuster despite resistance from movie companies due to Apple's inability to recognize pirated softwares and prevent it from being transferred to iTunes or the soon to be released iPhone.

Currently, Walt Disney Company is the only movie company that allows Apple's movie sales services. Apple's Steve Jobs is one of the major stockholders of Disney, so it is but fitting that Disney movies are being sold in Apple's movie store.

Will other movie companies give Apple the license to rent out their movies? or will Apple agrees to modify its software in a such a way that it recognizes pirated content? Whoever gives in, would certainly be a big boost to the movie industry and the movie watching public.
