Ebay Gets Back on its Feet
The New York Time reports that Ebay will soon be making some important on its auction site to make it more friendly and useful to its millions of online users who do their business transaction through the auction site. The site upgrade though will be just some simple site updates have been demanded by Ebay investors and stakeholders.
Although an update is long overdue since Ebay’s last site upgrade was way in back in 1998 when Ebay CEO Meg Whitman changed the site background from gray to white, Ebay management are still cautious about the impending upgrade.
In an interview during the Ebay live conference last week, New York Times quoted Whitman saying:
“We have to make sure our old users stay with us, but we’re going to be more bold around product changes than we’ve been in the past,”
Other changes that are about to happen in Ebay are:
- Simplified home page design - Changes in the search result headings - Decrease in fees charged to sellers, - Reduction in shipping cost charged to merchants
With these new improvements on the site, Ebay is hoping to gain more mileage in the online auction arena. And hopefully in the long run, raise up its United States listings and bring in more business activities on Ebay’s site.
